Periodic Functions

Periodic Functions repeat values at regular intervals and can be used to describe phenomenon such as oscillations and waves.

The general form of a Periodic Function is:

$\\f\left ( x+P \right )=f\left ( x \right ) \\\\\mathrm{\textup{where:}} \\\\f\,\,\,\,\mathrm{\textup{periodic function}} \\x\,\,\,\,\mathrm{\textup{variable}} \\P\,\,\,\mathrm{\textup{period of the function}}$

For example, the sine function can be used to vary the angle and measure the resultant sine over time, such as in the illustration below:
